Flat Panel Displays

Serious gamers aren't likely to see the cool in owning a LCD display.
They're more likely to feel the heat and light from a good old CRT!
Putting your pedal to the metal in most games means very high refresh
rates, and as much contrast as the eyes can tolerate. That's an
area where LCD (Liquid Crystal Displays) still don't have the edge.
But for the majority of users, an LCD Flat Panel is the next step
up. You will save on electricity, LCD panels use about a 5th of
the power, generate less heat, and as a side benefit, attract less
dust. Flat panels also take much less space and don't require Mr.
Atlas when it comes time to move them around, (for dusting of course).
The price on flat panel displays has been in sharp decline for
about two years, and it wasn't to long ago when we thought they
would begin to rise quickly as demand began to surpass supply. But
with the abrupt changes in the economy, that rise has probably been
forestalled or blunted. We can still expect increased prices in
the future, but for the time being, now is a good time to buy.
A monitor is a long term investment, and a LCD can be expected
to last a long time, even longer than a good ol' CRT.
